Meeker FFA harvests state awards

Meeker’s FFA Chapter captured a first place award and also won several other honors in state competition recently.

Vo-Ag Instructor and FFA Advisor Logan Johns said the students will be recognized next Wednesday, May 4, during the state FFA Convention.

Johns explained, “We won the Conduct of Chapter Meetings Contest and then we had a speaker, Brynna Raines, who placed third in the Natural Resources Division.

“In the Conduct of Chapter Meetings Contest, she had the highest test score and was the outstanding member of that state contest,” Johns added.

Another chapter member, Ayden Gonzales, placed fifth at the Creed Speaking Contest, Johns noted.

“We had the state runner-up marketing plan contest,” the Advisor stated.

That group consisted of Raines, Annsley Babek and Aviary Helms. “All of them were also on the Conduct of Chapter Meetings team along with Gonzales, Devyn Frazier, Allie Jarvis and Amos Grimes.”

Johns said all of the students will be recognized next Wednesday at the state FFA Convention.

He said Parker Buoy, a 2021 Meeker High School graduate, is a finalist for the Beef Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award.

Johns said that Daniel Flowers, a senior, will receive the State FFA Degree.
