Meeker’s Town Board this week adopted a resolution approving the General Fund budget for 2022-2023 and later, meeting as the Public Works Authority, approved its 2022-2023 budget as well.
The board also accepted the resignations of two persons and hired two people.
The General Fund budget for the coming fiscal year that begins July 1 totals $966,791.
The PWA budget total for 2022-2023 is $887,400.
Board members also approved an ordinance and its emergency clause related to changes for advertising de vices owned by the Town of Meeker.
They agreed to lease purchase a new police vehicle, a 2022 Dodge Charger. Police Chief Trent Norton advised board members the vehicle will be paid for out of the coming fiscal year budget.
They also approved purchasing a new copier/printer from Don’s Copiers for $5,495 for the Police Department with funds from the 2022-2023 budget.
Without going into executive session, the board accepted the resignation of Skyler Reynolds, a temporary part-time mower.
They also accepted the resignation of Meeker Police Officer James McNeill who resigned to take a position with the Stroud Police Department.
Board members agreed to move Kyle Crow from part-time to full-time police officer with a six-month probation and hired Marshall Jones as part-time police officer with a six-month probation.
The board tabled until the next meeting lease purchase of a fire truck for the Meeker Fire Department.
Meeting as the Public Works Authority, the Trustees adopted an ordinance related to utility customers that will require a $50 deposit from customers who want only trash service. Trustees passed the emergency clause making the ordinance effective immediately.
The Trustees approved the charged off accounts for Meeker Public Works Authority in the amount of $889.64.
