The Chandler High School Student Council hosted a Powder Puff flag football tournament last week to raise money for student activities. Teams by grade level from 9 to 12 competed. The teams were coached by Chandler football players from their grade, and were cheered on by male cheerleaders, who dressed the part. Coaches Jack Gray and Alex Reed acted as the referees and the play-by-play action was announced by sophomore Evan Yates and freshman Nathaniel Nunn. The evening started out with the Seniors vs. the Juniors. The Seniors shutout the Juniors in a 30-0 victory. The next game saw the Sophomores shutout out the Freshman with a score of 14-0. The winners of these games came together to determine the champion. The Seniors and the Sophomores battled it out, with the score staying close throughout. However, the Seniors took the win with a final score of 14-8. Photo/Debbie Terronez
