The Chandler Police Department responded to the following.
Saturday, Feb. 17
Ofc. Saunders pulled over a silver Nissan Altima for turning without a turn signal on First Street. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver was given two citations for failure to pay taxes and fees and failure to carry compulsory insurance. The driver had received a verbal warning when pulled over a few days prior.
Thursday, Mar. 7
Ofc. Hawkins responded to a two-car accident with injury on Sixth and Blaine. A Suburban rear-ended a USPS mail truck until it was on its side. The driver of the USPS truck was transported to the OU Medical Center. The driver of the Suburban was taken to Stroud Hospital for a blood test after showcasing signs of intoxication and admitting to drinking. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.
Friday, Mar. 8
Ofc. Hawkins responded to a two-car accident on Price Ave. near the Turner Turnpike entrance. The accident involved a yellow Subaru Crosstrek and a white Ford. There were no injuries and both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Sunday, Mar. 10
Lt. Phipps, Ofc. Berry and Ofc. Gilleland responded to 7th St and Iowa after a concerned citizen called in a suspicious person loitering in the area.The man was found lying on the ground and had a knife sheath on his side. After an altercation in which the man cursed the officers and threatened to kill them, the three were able to take him into custody for public intoxication, obstruction and resisting arrest. The man was transported to Lincoln County Jail.
