A Stroud man facing a felony count following a reported altercation with a woman and his arrest by Stroud police in late June has been ordered to a rehab center.
Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on July 1 this year against Ethan Cord Melson, 30. He is charged with domestic assault and battery, a felony.
He made an initial appearance before Special Judge Emily Mueller on July 2 and she ordered him to reappear at 1:30 p.m. on Aug.12.
On July 22, Judge Mueller ordered that Stone be released to a rehab center on July 26. She further set the matter for a pre-preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Sep. 2.
He is accused of committing domestic abuse by hitting a woman, throwing her into a wall and putting a cigarette out on her June 20, 2021.
Mueller previously set his bond at $3,000 with the stipulation that he have no contact with the victim.
