Erma Lee Nicely, of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was born on December 28, 1940, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Erma was known by those who loved her as a little feisty firecracker— outspoken, strong-willed, and full of life—but also incredibly lovinganddevoted to her family. She had a way of saying exactly what was on her mind, and somehow makingyoufeellovedatthe same time. She found joy in the simple things—picking blackberries, working in her garden, going garage saling, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. But more than anything, Ermalovedspending time with her family. That was where she was happiest, and where she built the memories that will be treasured for generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Geneva Beal; her children, Baby Girl Nicely and Kenneth Dan Nicely; and her siblings, Glen Beal, James Beal, and Freda Beal Dougherty. She is survived by her husband, Danny Mason Nicely, her partner through many years of love and life. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Melissa Way and Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Lauren Jessop and Titus, Kylie Way, and Ella Way; and her great-great-grandchild, Kenlie Jessop, who brought her so much joy. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Roberts, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David Keith and Sherry Nicely.
A graveside service was held on May 14, 2026, at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma, where family and friends gathered to honor her life. Erma’s life was full of love, strength, and personality. She will be deeply missed by her family, but the love she gave and the memories she created will stay with them always.
