Kathryn Gouker

Kathryn Gouker, a life long resident of Meeker, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, in Meeker, surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn was born on August 17, 1935 in Meeker.

She was the daughter of Floyd Ule and Dora Mae (Walker) Welborn.

She grew up in Meeker and attended Meeker Public Schools. She was a 1953 graduate of Meeker High School.

Kathryn married Harold Dwane Gouker on June 25, 1954 and the two were happily married for 66 years, until he preceded her in death on October 2, 2020. The couple made their home in Meeker. Harold and Kathryn owned and operated Gouker Dozer Service in Meeker for 50 years, and they also owned and operated Central Drilling Company.

Kathryn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the family statistician and schedule keeper. She always know each kid’s stats from the game before and knew when each and every game was scheduled. She was also an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan. When she wasn’t at a ball game, you could find her at Harold’s quarter horse races and enjoyed many winner’s circle moments with family and friends.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of over 66 years, Harold Dwane Gouker.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Gunderson and her husband, Jeff; two granddaughters, Courtney Smithson and her husband, Cody and Chelsey Jones and her husband, Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Killian Smithson, Kate Smithson and Barrett Jones; one sister, Carolyn “Sue” Smith and her husband, Dale and host of family and friends.

A funeral service was held December 2, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Meeker. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
