Kenneth Wayne Criess, 85, died on January 29, 2022.
Wayne was born June 3, 1936 in Stroud, OK to Walter and Alzenia (Rainwater) Criess.
Wayne graduated Stroud High School in 1954. He married Barbara Pomeroy Criess on May 19, 1955 in Stroud, OK and they shared a life together until her passing on March 18, 2014. Wayne and Barbara were very involved with the Stroud Alumni Association. Wayne enjoyed working with his hands especially as a Welder, helping even make some signs for Stroud that can be seen on Main Street.
Wayne was preceded in death by wife Barbara Criess; son Alan Criess; daughter Tina Criess Winger; father Walter Criess, mother Alzenia Criess; sister Jean Ridel and brother Dean Criess.
Survivors include daughter E. Colleen Dickey; son-in-law Larry Dickey; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother Ray Criess; brother Leslie Criess and many other extended family and friends. The Memorial Service honoring his life will begin at 11:00am on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Stroud First United Methodist Church, Stroud, OK with Pastor Ben Pascoe officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Stroud Alumni Association.
