Terry Wayne Brown Sr. of Prague, Okla., passed away on May 4, 2021 in Prague at the age of 73. Terry was born on November 21, 1947 in Stroud, Okla. He was the son of Ray and Betty (Shields) Brown. Terry was born and raised in Stroud. He was a proud graduate of Stroud High School, Class of 1966. While in school, Terry excelled on the football field, being honored as an all-district player. He also enjoyed playing his favorite sport as a member of the Stroud Tiger baseball team.
Terry married his high school sweetheart Marilyn Alley on January 13, 1966 at the Stroud Baptist Church. The two have known each other since they were in the fourth grade and were married for 55 years. Terry and Marilyn had three children, Tracee, Tammy and Terry Jr. They also raised their granddaughter, Kelly. Terry was a third generation oilman, he and his family moved all over the country to work. The family lived in Alaska, Wyoming and all over western Oklahoma. Following Terry’s retirement in 2000, the couple moved to their farm in Prague.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his son Terry Brown Jr. and his brother Lynn Brown.
Those left to cherish Terry’s memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Marilyn Brown; two daughters, Tracee Delk and her husband Jimmie and Tammy Huston and her husband Dewayne; seven grandchildren, Emilee Crim and her husband Tyler, Kelly Young and her husband Lane, Brandon Rice, Amber Slovinski and her husband Nate, Jacob Delk and his wife Tatiana, Hanah Delk and Kasey Brown. Terry is also survived by five great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, family and friends.
A funeral service was held Friday, May 7, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Stroud. A graveside service will immediately follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service. An online guestbook is available at www.parksbrothers.net
