A memorial celebrating the life of Marion Rice will be held 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Chandler. Rice requested that attendees wear colorful clothing and not black. Final arrangements were under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.

Rice was born to Jess and Edith Rice on November 9, 1946, in Wright City, Okla. He died Friday, April 10, 2020, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

A 1965 graduate of Choctaw High School in Choctaw, Okla., he served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era.

He worked as vice president and warehouse supervisor for K&G Fish Company.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chandler and Church of Christ in Perkins, Okla.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his son Michael E. Rice.

Survivors include his wife Carol Rice; his children and their spouses, Meredith Rice, Sely nda and Curtis Vass and Steven and Beth Scott; eight grandchildren; his sister Novella Weist; and other family and friends.
