A Harrah man already facing a felony charge of aggravated assault and battery has now been charged with an additional count while he’s in jail.
A formal charge of possessing contraband (drugs) in jail, a felony, was formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on March 24 against Lucas Wayne Queen, 37.
Special Judge Emily Mueller set Queen’s bond on that charge at $5,000.
He is accused of on March 16 this year of possession at the Lincoln County Jail an item of contraband, specifically methamphetamine, without the authority to do so.
His pre-preliminary hearings were scheduled for April 7. On that date, Judge Mueller set the hearings for April 14. On that date she moved it to April 21. Queen was already in the jail.
He was awaiting his pre-preliminary hearing on a charge of aggravated assault and battery that prosecutors filed against him on Feb. 22.
A $7,500 bench warrant had been issued after he allegedly punched a man in the face at a casino in Lincoln County.
That felony accuses him of on April 2, 2021, of committing an aggravated assault and battery on Merle Lynn Standage by punching him in the face with force and violence to inflict injury on Standage with the intent to hurt and injure Standage.
Court records show that the warrant was returned and filed on March 9. Queen appeared before Special Judge Emily Mueller on March 10. She originally scheduled his pre-preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. March 17.
The judge ordered that Queen’s bond of $7,500 remain in effect.
