Hearing set

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Stroud man facing a felony and misdemeanor following his arrest by a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy.

Roy Sam Spang, 47, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with actual physical control of vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a felony and transportation of opened containing of intoxicating beverage.

Spang appeared before Associate District Judge Joe Dobry who set his bond at $2,000. He made his initial appearance on July10. The judge has set his pre-preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. on Aug. 28.

Special Judge Emily Mueller has set a preliminary hearing for Spang at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16.

Count 1 accuses Spang on June 26, 2025 of being in actual physical control of a Dodge Ram on 3510 Road while under the influence of Four Loko.

In count 2 he is charged with transporting an open container of Four Loko while operating a Dodge Ram.

Lincoln County Deputy Christopher Vickrey, in a probable cause affidavit, states that shortly after 1 a.m. on June 26 he was dispatched to S. 3510 Road and located a Ram pickup truck sitting stationery with music playing.
