The McLoud City Council during its most recent meeting voted unanimously to create a City of McLoud Facebook page.
Members also adopted the McLoud City Facebook Page policy.
Councilman Daniel McClure, Jr., said the Facebook Page was part of the Strategic Plan adopted by the Council earlier this year.
“The public doesn’t get to interact, it’s not creating a public forum,” he assured the other Council members and those attending the meeting.
Concerning the Strategic Plan, City Manager Buck Day said the basketball goals the city was going to install “became too expensive for what we were going to do.”
The council members discussed the plan but didn’t take any further action or amend it.
Council member Larry Dillon inquired about “figuring out what if anything to do with the Senior Citizen Center.”
It was mentioned that little participation and having the personnel to run it were the issues.
Dillon suggested looking at Project Heart to see if that organization wants to do something again. Day indicated he would contact the agency to see.
On an issue of a contract with Attorney Clark and the McLoud TIF project, McClure said, “he hasn’t done anything on it.”
Day said he was trying to arrange a meeting with Clark that included himself, McClure, Mayor Stan Jackson and the Council’s attorney Mike Warwick that may have occurred earlier this week.
The Council members talked about adopting a rule concerning monthly code enforcement reports to be placed in the Council agenda packets. McClure and Dillon both supported the idea and finally after discussion the Council voted to adopted that rule.
In other business, Council members approved several invoices to Parkhill for the CDBG sewer line replacement project in the Heritage Park addition.
