Those who were out and about in downtown Chandler Friday afternoon were treated to the unusual sight and sound of horses clopping down the Manvel Avenue sidewalk.

Trick or Treating

This year’s annual Downtown Trick or Treat in Chandler is set to take place from 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 along Manvel. Most of the businesses located there plan to hand out treats to kiddos during the event. It is open to all families to attend.

Movie Premiere Sunday evening

The thriller movie “Reverence,” which was filmed in Chandler last year, is finally finished. The cast and crew are holding a private premiere this weekend to finally watch the final product.Producer Jacob Snovel with SafeHouse Films said everyone was excited to see it and to take it to festivals.

October Lions of the Month named

Kaylee Choate, Samuel Gardner and Alexis Juel, all seniors at Chandler High School, have been named the October Lions of the Month by the Lions Club.Kaylee Choate has won a Certificate of Excellence for a 4.0 GPA from 2021 to 2022.

Early voting for general election starts Oct. 30

Early voting for the Nov. 5 General Election begins next Wednesday, Oct. 30, a day earlier than normal, and Lincoln County voters have a local proposition to decide.

Jury trials have been continued for two McLoud men facing three felony charges each in connection with trafficking illegal drugs, cultivation of a controlled substance and possession of firearms during commission of a felony.

Manslaughter case

A California woman has pleaded innocent to a manslaughter charge as the result of a fatal traffic collision.A formal count of first degree manslaughter was filed on March 22 this year in Lincoln County District against Ariel Navarro, 32, of Banning, Calif.

Commissioners approve agreement on building

By Mike McCormick Staff Writer Lincoln County commissioners this week approved an agreement with Henson Construction for the new OSU Extension Office at the fairgrounds.In the motion it was noted that the agreement is approved subject to any adjustments by the District Attorney’s Office.
