Springtime is for flower gardens

I started a flower bed recently. That’s a fairly normal Springtime activity, I realize, but it’s unusual for me. I struggle to keep plants alive. I try to take proper care of them. I like plants and the way they improve a room or outdoor space. I really like brightly colored flowers.

Last week I sent a camera off to Wisconsin for what I hope is a rebirth for both of us. Here’s how it came about. Back in the late 1970s, I developed an affinity for twin lens reflex cameras.

Mother’s Day this weekend

As most of you are aware, this coming Sunday is Mother’s Day. I firmly believe it’s a day to honor the women in our lives. The mothers, grandmothers and other women who do so much for us men and our children.

Updates from Meeker Town Hall

April showers have sure brought out the May flowers. I thought the big storm with all the predicted hail would beat the petals off, but the storm split and went around us again. Let us keep our good practice of washing hands and social distancing of 6 feet to keep this virus out of Meeker.

Beck chosen for SWOSU Leadership Class

Matthew Beck of Stroud is one of 16 high school seniors selected to the President’s Leadership Class (PLC) for 2020-21 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

Acord Signs & On the Wall Graphics owner Debbie Acord contacted me over the weekend and said our new digital sign for Main Street should ship on May 6th. It won’t be long now. I think this will be a great addition to Stroud.
