Pair going to trial

A man from Carney and a woman from Chandler have been bound over to stand trial on two felonies each following their preliminary hearing.

James Michael Boyd, 38, whose address was listed as in Carney and Alexandria Deanne Gordon, of Chandler, were each charged Jan. 27 in Lincoln County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs and knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.

On June 23, at the conclusion of their preliminary hearings before Special Judge Emily Mueller, they were bound over to stand trial.

She has scheduled their arraignment for 9:30 a.m. July 18.

They were arrested by Lincoln County deputies.

Each appeared before Special Judge Emily Mueller and she set a $50,000 bond for each of them. They made their initial appearance on Feb. 2 before Judge Mueller and she ordered both of them to return Feb. 23.

The trafficking in illegal drugs count accuses them on Jan. 24 this year of having in their possession 363 grams of methamphetamine, a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

They also are charged on the same date of concealing prescription bottles that had been stolen and they knew or had reasonable cause to believe they had been stolen.
