Chandler opened its district season impressively on Friday, shackling the Crossings Christian Knights, 36-0. It was the Lions’ second shutout in four games and sets up Friday’s game with Jones as a battle for the pole position in District 2A-2.

Stroud wins rivalry game in ninth inning

Stroud scored three runs in the first inning and three in the ninth to beat Chandler, 6-4, in a regular season finale Friday that had the look and feel of playoff softball. It was a fitting atmosphere, as playoffs for Class 2A and above began with bi-district play on Monday.

Four in a row for Davenport

Carson Funk hit Casey Harelson for a 39-yard touchdown pass with 1:21 left to play, leading Davenport to a 58-50 win over Strother in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night. Campbell Miller intercepted a Strother pass with 48 ticks left in the game, clinching the victory for the Bulldogs.

Kellyville clips Meeker, 60-26

Kellyville’s Ponies shut out Meeker in the second half and turned a twotouchdown lead into a 60- 26 thumping in the district opener for both teams. The loss puts Meeker at 2-2 going into Friday night’s rivalry match with Prague.

NOAH scored early and often Friday night, handing North Rock Creek its fifth loss of the season, 68-0.

Redskins fall to Heritage Hall

The McLoud Redskins dropped their district opener to Heritage Hall last Friday night, but the previous week finished non-district play with a one-point win over Class 2A Hartshorne on the road. The Redskins go on the road Friday night to take on Mount St. Mary’s. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
