The regular season began its wind-down to the playoffs last week with some in-county matchups between Chandler, Wellston and Stroud. Wellston’s boys held off a comeback by the host Lions on a cold Tuesday night and won 60-2, while the 17th-ranked Chandler girls won, 54-20.

The Sac and Fox Nation Business Committee recently announced the purchase of Shawnee Trophy. The Sac and Fox Nation’s newly formed company, Shawnee Trophy, a Sac and Fox Nation Limited Liability Company, purchased the business from longtime owners Randy and Ruthi Loftis.

Prague wins 66 tournament

Prague’s girls downed Chandler 40-33 in the finals of the 66 Conference tournament in McLoud Saturday night, recording their third win over the Lady Lions this year. The win lifted Prague, No. 11 in Class 2A, to 15-2 for the year. The Lady Lions, now No. 18, sit at 12-6 for the season.

Wellston, Davenport second at Tri-County

Allen’s Chad Milne hit a three-pointer with just under two seconds left to lift Allen to a 41-39 win over Wellston in the finals of the Tri-County Tournament Saturday night.
