Lions get Homecoming Ws

Chandler’s wrestling and basketball teams made their homecomings happy events last week. The wrestling team rolled to its sixth victory with a 48-34 win over Hinton on Thursday and the basketball teams swept Stroud. The Lady Lions won, 57-46 with a second-half comeback and the boys won, 57-41.

Tigers cruise in tournament opener

Wellston charged into the second round of the Pott County Invitational by dispatching host North Rock Creek, 75-63, Monday night. The Lady Tigers, however, fell to a fourth-quarter comeback and lost to Earlsboro, 51-42.

Prague doubledips on Meeker

Prague swept rival Meeker twice in four days, beating the Bulldog boys and girls at Meeker Friday night, then again in the first round of the 66 Conference tournament Monday night in McLoud.

Lady Lions crack the rankings

Chandler’s girls peeled off four straight wins and moved to No. 18 in the Class 3A rankings. The Lady Lions had their win streak snapped by No. 13 Prague, 28-23, Monday night in the rescheduled finals of the Ripley tournament. Chandler hosted Prague Tuesday night.
