Three squads from Pott County will be aiming to bring home gold balls from the basketball state tournaments this. The defending state champion Dale girls play at noon Wednesday against Okemah. The two-time defending state champion Dale boys will play Warner at 7:30 p.m.

Stroud lineman Peyton Gaylord signed his national letter of intent to play football at Oklahoma Baptist University. Gaylord helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated district season, a 10-3 record and a berth in the state quarterfinals. The Chandler High School girls basketball team was named the 2024 Class 3A State Academic Champions by the OSSAA last week.“I was just extremely proud of them. They deserve it. They work really hard, both on the court and in the classroom,” Coach Kent Franz said.
