Waukomis upends Davenport

The Davenport Bulldogs fell to Waukomis 58-22 in their final home game of the season, even though Coach John Greenfield said his team played really hard.The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-2 in the district and 2-6 overall with a road contest coming up Friday night at undefeated Covington.

County Commission

Lincoln County commissioners this week accepted a quote and awarded it for the commissioners’ conference room remodel.Only two quotes were submitted. Scruggs Construction submitted a bid of $12,474 and Buoy Brothers Construction submitted a quote of $19,860.

Hearing scheduled

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Stroud man who is facing eight felonies following his arrest by officers.Formal charges were filed Sep. 24, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court against Acey Ambrose Murphy, 33.

The Lincoln County E911 Center was named the Emergency Communications Center of the Year at the 2024 Oklahoma Public Safety Conference.

On Saturday morning, cars were already parked around the metal building next to the bus barn in Chandler. It was early—about 8 a.m. One man said he had been there since around 7:30 a.m., waiting.

Most people who grew up in Lincoln County probably had a haunted house or two nearby. In high school, there were always murmurings about which ones were “really” haunted and the best to sneak out to in the middle of the night.

Prague man waives hearing

A Prague man has waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of felony assault and battery charge following a reported altercation with his girl friend.Trevor Wade Mills, 23, was formally charged in Lincoln County District July 10 this year with domestic assault and battery by strangulation.
