Cemetery traffic - what to do?

Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler is rather quiet and peaceful in the mornings. But around 7:07 a.m., headlights can be seen making their way through the gravestones. From then until just after the first bell at 8:05 a.m., there was a small yet steady stream of cars.
Charlie Hill, shown above in Chandler in October and at right in Vietnam in 1968, was recently included in the Making History Project at the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City. A Creek/Seminole Indian who was a sniper in the U.S. Marine Corps, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam, where, he says, his fellow Marines just called him Chief. We asked him to write this account of one of his experiences as a Marine in Vietnam.

VETERANS DAY

I served two tours of duty in Vietnam in 1968-69. In the summer of 1968 during the Tet Offensive, Agent Orange was being used, which affected most of those who were in combat areas. Many have never recovered and are still being treated, including myself.

One hurt in explosion

A reported explosion and fire damaged a metal shop building earlier this week, hurting one person who was inside. Lincoln County Emergency Management Deputy Director Charlotte Brown, who responded to the scene, said the shop building was located on 1010 Road and approximately 3340 Road.

Wellston ex-teacher bound over for trial on sex cases

A former Wellston substitute teacher facing four sex-related felonies with minors has been bound over to stand trial. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 12 against Emma Delaney Hancock, 26.
