CIC hosts spaghetti dinner

The Citizens for the Improvement of Chandler (CIC) will host a free spaghetti dinner on Nov. 22. The dinner will take place at the CIC Community Center at 1401 S. Steele in Chandler. The dinner is to last from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome to come and eat.

Dale calls election for empty school board seat

Dale Board of Education members recently approved a resolution calling for the annual School Board election for Office No. 4. The seat has been vacant since June of this year when Josh Clark resigned from the position.

Felony drug charge for driver stopped for obstructed tag

A motorist stopped by a state trooper last week on the Turner Turnpike for driving with an obstructed license plate faces a felony drug count. Xian Jun Xu, 53, no address listed, was charged in Lincoln County District Court Oct. 31 with trafficking in illegal drugs.

Stroud, Meeker, Prague advance

Three Lincoln County schools advanced to the second round of the football playoffs last week, but three teams in the area lost and were eliminated. Stroud powered past Morrison, 52-12, in Class A to advance to the second round against Gore. That game is at Stroud at 7 p.m. Friday.

Alva 16, Chandler 6

Chandler’s season came to an abrupt halt Friday night at the hands of the visiting Alva Gold Bugs, who took a 16-6 victory back to Northwest Oklahoma. The loss eliminated the Lions from the Class 2A playoffs and put their record at 8-3.

Tigers 56, Morrison 12

Stroud dominated every aspect of the game and built a 42-0 in just three quarters against Morrison Friday night en route to a 56-12 victory in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
