Betty Jonetta (Burger) Connor, a resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away in the evening hours of February 16, 2026, in Chandler at the age of 81. Betty was born on October 13, 1944, in Independence, Kansas, to JonathanBurgerandMary (Andres) Burger.

Davenport restores chief’s pay

The Davenport City Council voted to restore pay to the police chief at its regular meeting on Feb. 17 at Town Hall.Not only did the Council vote to restore pay, but it also restored pay dates to the 1st and 15th of every month and granted the chief back pay for six months at $953.33 a month, $476.

Area basketball teams had a good week in the playoff as Chandler, McLoud, North Rock, Meeker, Stroud and Dale all brought home district championship hardware.Wellston’s boys and girls both dropped out of the winners’ brackets, but continue this week in the Class A area tournament.
