Staying connected in busy times

The other evening I was with a group of people who started talking about how different life seems to be today in terms of frequent family gatherings. There were 8 to 10 of us and most were fairly close to my age, a couple considerably younger.

Thank you to Parks Bros. Funeral Home and Erin Bradley for the precious Candlelight Memorial Service they hosted for those who have lost loved ones in 2022. Stroud Assembly of God Pastor Jeromye Jackson spoke and offered comfort to those attending. A solo was performed by Ambar Cross-Marrero.

Chandler pom: State champions

The Chandler pom team is the State Champions in the 2A/3A/4A Jazz Division and the State Champions in the 2A/3A/4A Hiphop Division after Saturday’s competition.

Dog tales

Reno enjoyed chewing on the rubber Christmas toy Kindra bought him a few days ago. It’s red and decorated with the trappings of Christmas and it has a squeaker in it. Kindra noticed that he apparently hadn’t dis the squeaker yet, so she demonstrated - stepped on it to make it squeak.

Town Talk

A big Town Talk shout-out to the Stroud Chamber of Commerce along with President Erin Bradley on the great Christmas parade this past Saturday night. Erin said she felt like the parade was a success and that she received positive feedback on the Elvis theme.

Enjoying some grandson time

Thanksgiving this year once again was really nice. As I had written a couple of weeks ago, our daughter Meghan and son-in-law Terry invited Pat and me to their house for Thanksgiving Day along with Pat’s mother because Terry was able to be off. Terry prepared the turkey.

Hello, Tillie

December 22nd, 2020 at 4:00 a.m., I was heading to the hospital for a scheduled C-section. I was a ball of nerves the entire drive. Tried drowning out my nerves with music the whole way but it didn’t quite work.
