Jack Smith

Jack Smith, a longtime resident of Meeker, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the age of 92. Jack was born on February 11, 1930 in Eugene, Oregon. He was the son of Joseph Henry and Emma Myria (Martin) Smith. Jack was one of eight children.

COFCU merges with True Sky Credit Union

The True Sky Credit Union and Central Oklahoma Federal Credit Union (COFCU) recently announced their merger has received regulatory approval and approval by a majority vote of the COFCU members. According to a press release, the legal merger date for the two organizations was planned to be Nov.

The Chandler Rotary Club announced that the October Rotarian Students of the Month are Raegan Goeller and Hannah Edmonds. Raegan Goeller is the daughter of Jamie and Kyle Goeller. She has one younger brother, Christian Goeller.

Commissioners approve budget, expire burn ban as of Monday

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting recently approved the fiscal year budget for 2022-2023 and also approved a couple of grant applications. Lincoln County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the budget for 2022-2023 totals $13,081,448.66.

McLoud City Council meeting

McLoud’s City Council, with only three members present, tabled action on the appointment of a vice mayor and also held off filling the Ward 2 position. Council members did approve lifting a moratorium on billboards in the city limits.

Chandler FFA members met at the Chandler Fire Dept Saturday for a safety briefing, then headed out across town to weed eat around fire hydrants. We believe that allowing the hydrants to be easily seen will help the fi e fighters if the need arises. Chandler holds approximately 200 hydrants.
