Among the statewide races on this year’s Nov. 8 General Election ballot is one that is essential to public education. This is the contest for the State School Superintendent’s position between Democrat Jena Nelson and Republican Ryan Walters. We think there is a clear choice in this race.

Salute to Veterans coming in November

The Lincoln County News will publish a Salute to Veterans in the edition of Nov. 10. The quickly approaching deadline to submit photos is 5 p.m. Oct. 31. The earlier you submit them, the better. The salute will include photos and each veteran’s name, rank and years of service.

Chandler to have comprehensive plan committee

TheChandlerCityCouncil recently adopted a resolution creating a new Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee and is seeking citizens who are interested in serving on it. City Manager Jason Orr said, “It helps for a community to have a plan in place and a road map for the future.

Gov. Kevin Stitt has appointed Adam Panter to serve as the district attorney for the 23rd Judicial District that includes Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.

Clayton James Klein was born in Fredericksburg, Texas and was preceded in death by his parents Alfons & Meta Klein and brothers Kenneth Otto Klein and Rudy Edgar Klein. After a couple of years of deteriorating health, Clayton James Klein died Wednesday October 12, 2022 at home in Carney Oklahoma.
