Dale board of education meeting

Dale Board of Education members this week were provided revenue figures comparing September of this year with the same month in 2021 and approved updated transfer capacity numbers. School Supt. Will Jones reviewed with the board revenue comparisons of September 2021 and September 2022.

Hearings scheduled for additional charges

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled on five additional felonies for a Harrah man who was already awaiting a jury trial on a first degree murder complaint. Cole Berginer Guy, 19 at the time, and now 20, was formally charged Feb.

Chop shop update

A Prague woman charged with harboring a fugitive in an alleged chop shop has made an initial appearance and also has a court date on two other related charges. Whitney Kristine Harrison, 34, made her initial appearance on the harboring count on Sep. 29.

Chandler bounded out to an early three touchdown lead, then held off the Meeker Bulldogs Friday night. The win kept the Lions in a three-way tie with Jones and Luther for first place in District 2A. The Lions are 4-1 for the season, going into Friday night’s game at Bethel.

An old powerhouse and a new one qualified for the state fastpitch tournament last week. The Dale Lady Pirates, who have been fixtures in the state tournament and have won four titles under coach Andy Powell, beat Wyandotte, 5-4, on Friday to earn their trip to the 2A tournament.

Greenfield wins 200th at Davenport

Davenport’s head football coach John Greenfield garnered his 200th win as the Bulldogs cruised past Alex 36-0 last week in their homecoming contest. Greenfield, who has coached the Bulldogs for 18½ seasons since their transition to eight-man football, was asked how it felt to reach that milestone.
