A long time ago an old man talked about a lot of walking dead people. He preached without a pulpit. I thought he watched too many movies. My oldest brother figured it out first. It took me a long time to understand what he was talking about.

Stroud man pleads

A Stroud man has pleaded guilty to a pair of felony charges including one for allegedly striking a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff. Formal charges were filed June 29 in Lincoln County District Court against Jesus Daniel Fraire-Aguero, alias Jesus Daniel Aguero, 34.

Pott County Fair next week

This year’s Pottawatomie County Free Fair at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, which will begin accepting non-livestock entries next Wednesday, Sep. 7, will feature several new activities. Non-livestock entries may be brought to the Expo Center from 3-6 p.m. on that Wednesday.

The Davenport Bulldogs suffered a stinging setback last Friday night in their season opener on the road, losing to Oklahoma Bible Academy 46-0. Veteran Davenport Coach John Greenfield said this week, “Oklahoma Bible is solid, they’re pretty good. We didn’t play very well either,” he noted.

Chandler, North Rock Creek and Stroud scrimmaged during Zero Week, with Chandler hosting Heritage Hall and North Rock Creek going to Stroud.
The Chandler Junior High football team went into full Pistols Firing mode last week during a tour of the Oklahoma State University football facilities. The team got to see the weight room, film room, coaches offices, meeting rooms, athletic cafeteria, indoor practice field and Boone Pickens Stadium. After eating, the team was playing football on the outside turf field and OSU head coach Mike Gundy walked by and took this picture with them.
