Joel Dewayne Wakefield, 70, of Chandler, Okla., passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Joel was born on June 12, 1951, in El Reno, Okla., to Jack Wakefield and Carrie (McAffee) Wakefield and lived there until he moved to Chandler in 1989.

Murder trial continued in February shooting

A Lincoln County District judge again has continued a jury trial for a Harrah man charged with first degree murder who was scheduled to be tried next week. Cole Berginer Guy, 19 at the time, was formally charged Feb.
