Couple to celebrate 50th Anniversary

The children of Jack and Rebecca Fick Jr. will host a celebration in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. All friends and family of the Agra couple are invited to attend 4-6 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022. The event will be at General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Parkland, Okla.

Dale hires elementary principal

The Dale Board of Education this week hired a new elementary principal for the 2022- 2023 school year, filled several elementary and middle school teaching positions and also employed support staff for the coming school term. The board also reorganized.

Generator

Back in 2010, I saw a house with a wall box and outlet in the garage. We were house shopping, so I was curious about the box and asked the Realtor: “What’s this?” “That’s so he can plug in his generator if the power ever goes out,” was the answer.

A golf cart down Memory Lane

As I was taking a short break from work the other day to just walk up the street and back, I saw a high school kid driving a golf cart down our road. It got me to thinking.

Town Talk

Thank you to Ken and Celeste and Carpenter for picking up flags from the cemetery. Stopping to help them were Shannon and Stephanie Williams and three of their children, Tanner, Kayden and Hadley. They picked them up on Saturday before the big rain Sunday.

Cloyce Vernon Leake

Cloyce Vernon Leake, age 85, of Chandler passed away on May 27, 2022. A memorial service was held Sunday, May 29, 2022, at First Christian Church of Chandler and internment was at the Davenport Cemetery on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. He was born September 28, 1936, to William and Minnie (Kalka) Leake.
