December is just around the corner and with it comes lots of Christmas festivities. To kick things off there will be an Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. Come to the Route 66 Pavilion on December 4th at 5:45 p.m., right before the Christmas parade.

Christmas in the Park coming to Prague

The Prague Chamber of Commerce will host Christmas in the Park on Saturday, Nov. 27. Activities will start at 4:30 p.m. when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at the Park Gazebo handing out goody bags to the children. Lighting of the park will take place at dusk.

Toy donations needed

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a toy drive for children of the members of the local Oklahoma National Guard Unit. All donations will stay in the local unit to show support for those who serve in the military. Needed are unwrapped toys suitable for a boy or girl up to age 12.

Lincoln County Retired educators meet

Chandler Methodist Church ladies hosted the Lincoln County retired educators for their meeting on Monday, Nov. 1. Katherine Greenfield, President, conducted the business meeting. Lynn Gatlin and Earlene Anderson were named for the nominating committee.

Following is a list of upcoming events in and around the Chandler community. The Chandler Lions Club meets at 12 p.m., each Thursday at First Christian Church, 614 Manvel. The Chandler Rotary Club meets 12 p.m., each Friday at Rt. 66 Bowl. The following events are planned for November. Mon.-Fri.

Lincoln County Assessor releases 2021 Tax Statement

Half of Lincoln County’s 16 school districts have tax millage levies that are lower in 2021 than in 2020 according to Jackie Holcomb, Lincoln County Assessor. Seven school district’s tax millage levies are up, although three of those seven are up less than one percent.
