Billy Ray Douglas was the last surviving sibling of 10 born March 14, 1934 in Okemah, Okla., to Jess and Florena (Gann) Douglas. He passed away November 20, 2021 in Tulsa at the age of 87.

Additional charges in Prague case

A Prague man already facing a charge of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation now faces a separate felony count. Alpha Randolph Woody, Jr., 60, was formally charged on Oct. 22 in Lincoln County District Court with the Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation count.

McLoud approves bids

The McLoud City Council, meeting as the Public Works Authority, approved bids for several sewer-related projects during its most recent meeting. Authority members also approved a budget amendment to cover those expenditures.

Prague Middle School student Gracey Rich placed first in the American Farmers and Ranchers District Speech contest and qualified in the top 10 for the state. She competed in the Junior Division, which is for sixth to eighth graders. The speech had to be between 4-6 minutes long.

Thanksgiving

It’s Thanksgiving time again. We are reminded that we should be thankful and grateful at this time of year for everything the Good Lord has provided us. Once again we are really excited because we’ll be with our daughter Meghan, her husband Terry and their son Liam, (our grandson).

Law enforcement officers face enough obstacles in doing their jobs each day that they shouldn’t have to keep arresting the same criminals over and over. Thinking about it further, that seems counter productive. That’s what’s happening though, in some cases recently, in Lincoln County.
