Charges in fatal shooting

A Wellston man has been charged with first degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old Lincoln County resident the day after July 4. The charges were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on Tuesday of this week against Freddie Antonie Seamster, 38.

Dear Editor: This letter is being written to address the two propositions being put forth to Lincoln County voters on July 13, 2021. Proposition One on the ballot calls for the formation of an Emergency Medical District to be funded by a recurring (or permanent) countywide property tax.

Earlene was born on July 6, 1942 and entered into rest on July 1, 2021 at the age of 78 years. She is the daughter of Earl and Vinita Danker, the oldest of their eight children. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl & Vinita Danker, infant sister Lora Jane and sister Marcilla Evans.

A funeral service will be held for Patricia Gayle (Adams) Pixley at 2 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2021, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee, Okla. Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery near Bowlegs, Okla., under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.

Thurman Franklin Norman

Thurman Franklin Norman, long-time Davenport, Okla., resident was born August 20, 1939, in Wewoka, Okla. He departed this life on July 2, 2021, at his home in Davenport at the age of 81 years. Thurman was the son of C.T. and Ella (Barkhimer) Norman.

Harley Dean Holman passed away peacefully at the age of 71 from a prolonged illness on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, in Tulsa, Okla., in the company of his immediate family. Harley Dean was born on January 15, 1950, in Okemah, Okla.

Betty Arlene (Turner) Howard, age 76 of Shawnee, died Sunday, June 27, 2021 in Edmond, Okla. Services were Friday, July 2, 2021 in Walker Funeral Service Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Celebrant Glenda Stansbury officiating. Burial followed in Prague Cemetery, Prague, Okla.
