Chandler library adds 26 children’s books

The Chandler Public Library added 26 new children’s books to the children’s collection including easy reader, juvenile nonfiction and juvenile fiction.

Four face felonies in Lincoln County case

Four people from Pottawatomie County are each facing four felonies following the alleged burglary at a house in Lincoln County earlier this month. A $20,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of one of them.

Commissioners step away from sales tax

Lincoln County commissioners this week backed away from calling a special election to be held on June 8 to ask voters to approve a new ¾ cent sales tax for county public safety purposes.

Area graduation dates set

Area high school commencement exercises have been scheduled for graduating seniors in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties, though details for some are still being worked out. Agra: School Supt. Jeff Kelly says graduation exercises are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Drama team to regionals

The CHS Drama students will be competing in the OSSAA Regional Speech and Debate competition this weekend. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Drama Department has been unable to perform for live audiences this year, and the regional competition will be a virtual event.

Waiting for consensus is the right move

Lincoln County commissioners held off this week calling for a sales tax election to fund a new jail and for a countywide ambulance service. There’s little doubt both are badly needed. But commissioners were wise not to call for the election just yet.
