Meeker sewer on agenda

Meeker’s Town Board has called for a meeting next Monday, March 8, to determine how they will pay for a major sewer and manhole project. Town Administrator Dickie Walton said the meeting is scheduled for noon at Town Hall.

Chandler wrestling qualified five wrestlers for this week’s state tournaments. Bailey Bigbey, Alison Conway and Adilyn Massie will compete in the girls tournament, which is Thursday at the Norick Arena, aka, The Big House, in Oklahoma City.

17 years in the making

The last time the McLoud Redskins were district basketball champions, most of the current players were still in diapers and some weren’t born yet. That was 2004, but the streak ended Monday night when McLoud pulled off an intense 61-58 overtime win over Dickson.

Orin Levi “Bud” Crain Jr. was born April 26, 1928, in Fordland, Mo. He died Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 92 years. Crain served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. A skilled craftsman, he and his wife owned and operated Orin’s Furniture Specialties in Tulsa, Okla.
