COVID cases keep on the rise

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased by three in Pottawatomie County in the last few days, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

The three latest deaths in Pottawatomie County are a male in the 65 and older age group, a female in the 50-64 age group and a female in the 65 and older age group, the OSDH said.

Over the past week the number of positive cases has continued to rise in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties.

The number of deaths in Lincoln County as of Tuesday this week stands at 30. In Pottawatomie County that number is 29.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 380 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 152, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 532 in the last seven days.

Lincoln County’s number this week is 1,916. A week ago it was 1,764. Two weeks ago it was 1,567 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 4,908. Last week it was 4,528. The county’s total two weeks ago was 4,081.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 6,824, according to the OSDH.

A week ago that number stood at 6,292. Two weeks ago the number was 5,648.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 5,839, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 4,228 have recovered and 1,611 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday 265,620 have tested positive, there have been 2,240 deaths and 224,672 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 36,544 the OSDH reports.

Last week there were 241,991 testing positive, there had been 2,086 deaths and 206,896 had recovered. There were 33,009 active cases a week ago.

This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported 2,186 new positive cases confirmed and 22 additional deaths.

The OSDH reports more than 2,251,317 have tested negative.
