Updates from Meeker Town Hall

1. Update on Special Trustee Meeting

A. The meeting was held at City Hall with all Trustees in attendance. Attorneys Allen Brookes and Nate Ellis from Public Finance Law Group will be conducting the presentation to the Board.

B. Discussion will be on how to pay for the amount the grants do not pay for.

C. Several options will be offered and discussed.

D. This project has been needed for a long time.

2. Update on Grants

A. Along with the $60K and $78K principle forgiveness. We will also have a $200K principle forgiveness that will be discussed and applied to this Sewer Project of $1.7 MIL. Also, the I.H.S. portion of $170K will be discussed.

B. Other groups may be discussed also for this project.

3. Update on Sewer Jetter

A. The new sewer jetter nozzles have really proved their worth. The guys are cutting roots out of the sewer lines all over Town. This will be a major undertaking for years and years of tree root growth in these lines.

B. Thanks to OMAG for the grant to pay for the new hose, control valves and nozzles.

C. The Foam Dukes Root Co. has been working great. This foam was applied to approx. 4,000 line of sewer several weeks ago. This was also paid for by a grant we received.

4. Update on Ice Storm

A. We think everything has thawed out that was frozen.

B. Engineering is helping us with cost for all these damaged lines.

C. I have contacted U.S.D.A. and they are going to help us apply for these repairs to be paid for. One of these groups will be Communities Unlimited. I talked to Karen Conrad and she will be conducting a zoom meeting with us on Tuesday, the 16th. It is sure great to know these kind of Co’s that are willing to help small towns.

5. Update of Gleen Crest Park

A. Thieves stole 2 of our corner post that we were going to use at the park. They better stay away. “Smile you are on Candid Camera”.

B. Anyone doing damage or committing theft will be prosecuted to the maximum.

C. Custom Cut Graphics Design will be making signs for the park.

D. Sponsors names will be listed on the exit side of the entrance sign. Thank you all again for everyone’s participation in rebuilding this park.

E. Robbie Hulstine is laying the concrete block for the stone masonry that will hold the park entrance sign.

F. Groundwork has been completed for Top Turf to come and lay some new Turf.

G. The new basketball backboard came in this week and is being installed. The last one was damaged in freight transit.
