A Lincoln County jail inmate faces two felony charges after allegedly assaulting two detention officers and sending one to the hospital.
Formal charges of aggravated assault and battery on a Corrections employee and assault and battery on a police officer were filed March 7 Court against Trent Allen Evans, 32, of Luther.
Evans is accused of assaulting detention officers Gage Elder and Tanner Smith, both detention officers, Feb. 26 at the Lincoln County Jail.
Elder suffered a concussion, fractured nose and other injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the OU Trauma Center.
Smith suffered superficial injuries to his neck and face, according to the affidavit filed by Deputy Tony Long.
Deputy Kevin Roe had arrested Evans a little after 9 p.m. that evening for driving under suspension and had taken him to the jail for booking.
It was about 10 p.m. when the detention staff began the process on Evans and when Evans was changing his clothes to put on jail oranges is when he became combative, the deputy reported.
Evans made his initial appearance on March 7 before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk. She set his bond at $10,000 and scheduled his pre-preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. March 17.
