A driver from Davenport has been charged with felony driving while under the influence of alcohol following his arrest by a Lincoln County deputy sheriff last month.

Edward James Butler, 63, was arrested in December by Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Brown just east of 3510 Road on Highway 66, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by Brown.

He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler where State Trooper Eric Brown conducted a breath test on Butler. The test results came back at

0.14 blood alcohol content (bac) and the legal limit is .08, the affidavit states.

Butler was then booked into the county jail on a DWI complaint.

Court records show Butler was formally charged last month in Lincoln County District Court with DWI, a felony. Special Judge Emily Mueller set his bond at $2,000.

Assistant District Attorney David Ball, in supplemental information filed in the case, said that Butler on Oct. 27, 2015 was convicted of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
