A Cushing man has been charged with a felony following his arrest in mid-January by Lincoln County deputies.

Jeremiah Lee Sargent, 32, was formally charged on Jan. 27 with larceny from the house.

Court records show that Sargent’s bond was set at $5,000. His initial appearance was continued until 1:30 p.m. today, Feb. 11, due to COVID quarantine.

He is accused of stealing property from the house of Carlos Hillan at 760574 S. Kayla Drive in Agra on Jan. 14 this year.

Sergeant Larry Stover, with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, states in a probable cause affidavit that he was dispatched to the property at 760574 S. Kayla Drive in Agra about a male subject asking the person who notified authorities about being pulled out after being stuck on a vacant property.

The person who notified authorities resides west of that property and he told authorities he knew it was vacant.

After Stover reportedly arrived at that property, he asked Sargent what he was doing at the house, according to the affidavit.

Sargent responded that he was getting his bed out of the house and when asked who owned it, he advised Stover his brother owned it and his brother had been shipped out of state because of the military.

Stover informed Sargent the name on the property was Carlos Hillan.

A short time later, Stover placed Sargent under arrest for burglary.
