God’s House of Prayer meeting community needs

The public is invited to a free Community Christmas Dinner at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, hosted by the Outreach Ministry of God’s House of Prayer and Open Door Ministry. The event will be at Douglas Gym, 299 W. 14 th Street in Chandler. Servers will be wearing masks and gloves and social distancing will be practiced.

The Outreach Ministry oversees an outdoor food ministry and prepares Christmas Baskets to help out families that need extra help. In addition, they have been made aware of five homeless families in the local community that have ongoing needs.

Some items requested are canned goods (vegetables, fruit, meat, soups, sauces, etc.), dry goods (pastas, cereal, microwave meals) and all toiletries. In addition to food, needs for the homeless include shelter, gloves, scarves, caps, tents, socks, blankets, hygiene items and hand warmers. Coats are needed in specific sizes.
