Two students from Chandler, two from Wellston and one from Prague had animals qualify for the Sale of Champions at the Oklahoma Youth Expo last week in Oklahoma City.
They were: - Christian Moehle, Chandler FFA, 3rd place dark crossbred hog.
- Tanner Vaughan an, Chandler FFA, 6th place Shorthorn.
- Dusti Gregory, Prague 4-H, reserve champion Yorkshire Rhett O’Day, Wellston 4-H, 6th place Charolais.
- Hayden Green, Wellston FFA, 16th overall dark crossbred hog.
The Oklahoma Youth Expo is the World’s Largest Junior Livestock Show.
Every March, more than 7,000 4-H and FFA members bring more than 13,000 head of show animals to the state fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
The OYE annually awards $2 million to exhibitors and more than $300,000 in academic scholarships.
