COVID-19 numbers increase

The total number of new confirmed COVID-19 Coronavirus cases in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties has significantly increased in the past week.

The total number of persons testing positive in Oklahoma has taken a substantial jump in the past week as well. As of Tuesday the number stood at 8,645. A week ago it was 7,363. That’s an increase of 1,282, the OSDH reports.

The number of combined positive cases in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties now stands at 102. It was 87 a week ago, a jump of 15.

A week ago Tuesday, there were 22 positive cases in Lincoln County. On Tuesday, the number stood at 27. Two people have died in the county since the outbreak began, the OSDH reports and 20 have recovered.

Pottawatomie County’s total number of people testing positive last week stood at 65. On Tuesday of this week, it was 75, according to the OSDH.

Four persons in the county have died from the virus. Of the confirmed cases, 59 have recovered, the OSDH reports.

The number of deaths statewide attributed to the virus stands at 363, 10 more than the 353 a week ago Tuesday. Of the 363 deaths, the OSDH reports 178 are females, 185 are males.

As of Tuesday, the OSDH is reporting more than 253,160 have tested negative statewide.
