COVID numbers jump in Pott., Lincoln county

The total number of new confirmed COVID-19 Coronavirus cases in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties has jumped again over the past week.

The total number of persons testing positive in Oklahoma also has increased during the same time frame.

As of Tuesday, the number statewide stood at 13,757. A week ago it was 11,028.

That’s an increase of 2,729, the Oklahoma State Health Department reports.

The OSDH reported that on Tuesday 585 more positive cases were confirmed and two more persons had died during the previous 24 hours.

The number of combined positive cases in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties now stands at 133.

It was 118 a week ago, a jump of 15.

Of the 15 additional cases, there has been a jump of 14 in Pottawatomie County and only one more in Lincoln County.

A week ago Tuesday, there were 28 positive cases in Lincoln County. On Tuesday, the number stood at 29.

Two people have died in the county since the outbreak began, the OSDH reports and 24 have recovered.

Pottawatomie County’s total number of people testing positive last week stood at 90. On Tuesday of this week, it was 104, according to the OSDH.

Four persons in the county have died from the virus.

Of the confirmed cases, 77 have recovered, the OSDH reports.

The statewide number of deaths on Tuesday attributed to the virus stands at 387, 16 more than the 371 a week ago Tuesday.

Of the 387 deaths, the OSDH reports 189 are females, 198 are males.

As of Tuesday, the OSDH is reporting more than 327,840 have tested negative statewide. Last week that number was over 284,000.
