Demolition of the Econo Lodge off of I-44 began last Monday, June 15, and is expected to be finished in around 10 days’ time.

According to owner of Meddock Demolition LLC, Dwight Meddock said this includes cleanup of all debris.

On the night of Nov. 29, 2018, a fire started in the kitchen when the hood vent system caught on fire.

The fire started at B’s Restaurant and quickly spread to the Econo Lodge.

Four rooms were heavily damaged with smoke and the restaurant was completely lost.

Members of the Agra, Davenport, Stroud and Chandler Fire Departments responded to the call. The call was made at 11 p.m.

Since the old hotel caught fire in November of 2018, it has been vacant.
