BancFirst regional executive Harvey Robinson announced that effective January 1, 2020 Ira Hopkins will assume the role of president of BancFirst Chandler. Current president Danny Alsip will become the business development officer and transition to a four-day week. Alsip will maintain his client relationships and loan portfolio while cultivating relationships with new and existing customers.

“Ira is an exceptional banker with a strong background in agricultural lending,” remarked Robinson. “He is hands down one of the best Ag lenders in the area. As president, he will continue BancFirst’s legacy of financial strength, customer service, and community commitment that are the cornerstones of our business philosophy.”

Hopkins is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with over 25 years of banking experience including personnel management, audit management, and originating and servicing agriculture loans. Before joining BancFirst, Hopkins served as chief credit officer for a southwest Oklahoma rural financing institution. He is a member of the Lions Club and a graduate of Class XI of the Oklahoma Agriculture Leadership Program.

Regarding his promotion to president, Hopkins commented, “BancFirst is an outstanding bank led by strong, experienced bankers. It’s gratifying to have the opportunity to lead BancFirst Chandler into the future, utilizing the same drive, care, and passion that Danny has modeled.”

Alsip has 41 years of overall banking experience and served as president of Banc-First Chandler for the past 13 years.
