Three FFA chapters in Lincoln County were recognized for their work in growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.

The Chandler, Prague and Meeker FFA Chapters received a 3-star rating from the National FFA Association, and Meeker was previously announced as one of 10 finalists for the 2020 Model of Excellence.

According to Chandler ag teacher Stuart Symes, this means they are in the top 10 percent in the Nation of chapters within the country.

Symes said to receive this 3-star rating is humbling. Chandler FFA Chapter President Jared Stone said it’s honoring and humbling to know all their hard work is paying off.

“I’m really proud of our officer team and chapter for working through it and getting everything done, even with COVID-19, we still got everything done and taken care of,” he said. “I’m very excited.”

Symes said everything they do is for the FFA students and that he’s proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

Several FFA students throughout Lincoln County were also recognized on a National level for their hard work and dedication.

Chandler Alumni Seth Stone was a National Finalist in Agricultural Proficiency for his work in agricultural research and plant systems.

Chandler sophomore Ethan Stone was a National Finalist in the Agriscience Fair for his work in the area of environmental services and natural resource systems.

Chandler senior Jared Stone was a bronze finalist in the Agriscience Fair for his work in the area of social system.

Prague senior Callie Roberts received a gold Agricultural Proficiency award rating from the National FFA Association for her work in the area of veterinary sciences.
