New things are in flight at the Stroud Municipal Airport.

During the monthly City Council meeting, Stroud board members approved the CARES Act Grant for the Stroud Municipal Airport project.

Stroud City Manager Bob Pearman said the grant is for $20,000 and will cover the cost of resurfacing the cracks in the apron on the taxiway.

“This is part of our five year airport plan,” he said. “The first part is fixing that apron.”

The estimated cost of the project is $110,000.

Pearman said the city is responsible for 10 percent of the project cost, which is $11,000.

Pearman said the $20,000 CARES grant will cover the city’s share.

Pearman said the objective of the projects is to clean and fill joints and cracks.

During the meeting, board members also approved an agreement on a Master-On-Call Consultant with H.W. Lochner.
