Wellston Public Schools will have two new administrative staff members this fall.
The Wellston Board of Education approved the hire of Beth Withrow as an administrative assistant/ encumbrance clerk and the hire of Dawn Yates as a treasurer and teacher assistant/office assistant.
Other actions made by the board include:
• Approval of corresponding claims within the General Fund, Building Fund, Building Bond Fund and Sinking Fund.
• Approval of twelve “Open” Transfers per the superintendent’s recommendation for the 2020- 2021 school year.
• Approval of the “Emergency” Transfer per the superintendent’s recommendation for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the fastpitch softball budget for 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the temporary appropriations for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval to adopt a contract with Apex Learning Curriculum for 6-12 grade for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the contract with Amplify (Dibels) for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of a contract with IXL Learning fro the elementary site to include science and social studies for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the contract with Renaissance (Accelerated Reader) for the elementary site for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the contract with OSSBA Employment Services for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of a contract for property and fleet insurance with OSIG for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of a contract for workers’ compensation with OSAG for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of a contract with Kellogg & Sovereign Consulting, LLC and a resolution for schools and libraries universal services (e-rate) for the 2020-2021 school year, which authorizes filing of the form 471 applications for funding year 2020-2021 and the payment of the applicant’s share upon approval of funding receipt of services.
• Approval of a contract with Barlow & Associates for federal programs for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of a contract with OROS (Organization of Rural Oklahoma Schools) for the 2020- 2021 school year.
• Approval of the all Activity Fund Subaccounts (70 O.S.5-129) for the 2020-2021 school year.
• Approval of the motion to surplus items including a Chevy Suburban, Driver’s Ed Vehicle Ford Taurus, power washer and old computers/monitors with the superintendent handling the method of surplus.
• Approval of a motion to accept the bid from Jackson Electric for the football field lights.
• Approval of Dwayne Danker, superintendent, as the authorized representative for state and federal programs representative; Beth Withrow as the encumbrance clerk; Ruth Greenfield as elementary activity fund custodian; Estelette Payne as secondary activity fund custodian; Dawn Yates as Treasurer and the representative for Stroud National Bank/Wellston Branch, BancFirst Chandler, and/or Payne County Bank for financial transactions for the 2020-2021 school year.
